FAQs

Where and when is Podstock 2018?
Podstock will be July 18-20, 2018 at the Hotel at Old Town Conference Center in Wichita, Kansas.

What’s the deal with the Reflection Rally?
For the last few years, we added an extra day just before the full Podstock conference for all of you overachievers who wanted even more learning and fun. This year, we’re changing it up. No Pre-Con. It’s all about the Reflection Rally, baby! Friday morning will be a facilitated time for in-depth reflection and long-range planning. We want Postock to be more than just sit and get . . . there’s where the Rally comes in. This is a time for you to really extend the learning and ensure that you’re ready for August!

Are there registration deadlines?
No. But there is an early bird special that offers a $50 discount and an awesome Podstock tee shirt. The early bird deadline is May 1.

What if I register but later can’t make the conference? Can I get a refund?
We understand that plans change so there will be no penalty for cancellations received on or before the date 30 days prior to the first day of the conference. We’ll refund the full amount paid minus a $25 processing fee.

But we’re ordering food, making reservations, hiring a DJ . . . you get the idea. So we will have to charge a cancellation penalty of 50% of registration costs plus a $25 processing fee for any cancellations received between 29 to 10 days before the pre-conference. And we can’t issue any refunds for cancellations received less than 10 days before the first day of the pre-conference. All cancellations must be sent in writing via fax, e-mail, or regular mail.

And we’re not able to transfer your registration to another person who may want to attend in your place. Sorry. (Darn those credit card companies.)

Can I pay with a purchase order or credit card?
Yes. Visit the Registration page for details.

Who is Podstock really for?
Podstock is for anyone interested in improving education and preparing kids for their future. There are sessions for all grade levels and technology comfort levels. If you’re a technology coordinator, technology integration coach, classroom teacher, system admin, principal or superintendent, there’s something for you.

Are there things to do after the day’s sessions are over?
Yes. The conference is in a section of Wichita called Old Town. Old Town has restaurants, bars, dance clubs, museums, and almost all of them within walking distance of the conference hotel. We’re also planning for some family friendly type stuff happening during the day and evenings.

I’m driving. Where do I park?
There are several free parking options right next door to the conference center.

Is lunch included in my registration fee?
Lunch is not provided but there are lots of lunch options within walking distance of the conference center. There will also be coffee and snacks in the morning as well as afternoon refreshment breaks. (The hotel brownies are awesome!) And we always have food at Moonlight Madness and the dance!

Is there a group discount?
There are discounts for groups of 10 or more. Call Pam at 620-663-9566 or email her for details.

What about graduate credit?
You can earn credit from Mid-America Nazarene University. Contact Michelle Reavis at 620-663-9566 or email her.

If I am presenting at the conference, do I need to register for the conference?
Yes. Please remember that everyone who will be attending the conference needs to register. But presenters will be able to attend for free by using the double secret probation registration code you received in your confirmation email.

Do I need a laptop? Or mobile device?
No. But it is a tech conference so . . . mmm, we’ll let you decide that one.

What is the best way to get updates at the conference?
Follow the conference on Twitter and Facebook with the hashtag #podstock18.

Will there be free wifi throughout the entire conference center?
Our free network is accessible in all meeting rooms and public spaces.

Do you collect feedback about the conference?
Yes, we will be asking for general feedback conference evaluations. A few days after the conference ends, you’ll receive an email with a reminder to let us know what you think.
