Pre-Conference

We’re once again offering attendees the option of participating in a pre-conference held the day before Podstock kicks off.

The Pre-Con is a wonderful learning and networking opportunity for educators and, at only $125 per person, is a great low-cost option for school districts to support the integration of tech and best practice into instruction and learning.

And just like Podstock, the Pre-Con will provide educators with tons of  just-in-time learning, snacks, fun, and giveaways. Don’t miss it!

Registration for the Pre-Con must be completed separately from the Podstock registration. So start the process here. (You probably don’t want to waste a lot of time thinking this over. The Pre-Con holds just the first 100 people and last year the spaces went very fast.)

All sessions will be held July 12, 2017 in the Hotel at Old Town Conference Center. And like all of our pre-con sessions, you get to vote with your feet. So pick and choose where you want to go and where you want to spend your time.

This year’s Pre-Con will be a “galactech” journey! Throughout the morning we will explore a variety of tech gadgets through hands-on challenges. During this “techsploration orbit” expect HyperDuinos, Hummingbird Robotics, 3D printing, Wearable Tech, VR, and MORE! In the afternoon, we will embark on a mental extravehicular activity, or EVA, with the task of sharing ideas in an unconference format!

Tentative Schedule:

  • 8:30: Mission Check-in & Prep for Launch
  • 9:00-10:00: Maiden Voyage
  • 10:00-12:00: Mission One: Techsploration Orbit
  • 12:00-1:30: Lunch on your own
  • 1:30-4:00: Mission Two: Galactech EVA

We also know a few other things:

  • It’s gonna be awesome
  • You’ll be able to move between sessions and topics
  • You’ll get the chance to meet all sorts of interesting people
  • You’ll be smarter at the end of the day
  • Did we say that it’s gonna be awesome?

We also know that this year’s Pre-Con will be something different. But since something different is what Podstock is all about, well, maybe the day’s not going to be so different after all.
